Face to face GP appointments are now only being booked after speaking with a GP for a telephone appointment first, you will only be invited in to the practice if essential to do so.
Patients age 12-15 will be invited via their school and here are some guides for parents below, there are no plans for GP Practices to vaccinate this age group.
We are awaiting guidance for immunosuppressed 3rd vaccines, and recommend you speak with your hospital specialist if you have queries regarding the Covid booster vaccines.
Government guidance is that Covid vaccination boosters should be given using Pfizer vaccine even if the first vaccines given were Astra Zeneca.
This is considered to be completely safe and effective. The only exception is where someone had an allergy to the Pfizer vaccine. In this situation you should discuss this with your GP.
For more information, see: JCVI statement regarding a COVID-19 booster vaccine programme for winter 2021 to 2022 - GOV.UK (www.gov.uk)
You will receive a text before you can book an appointment and this wil not be with our practice currently. When you get a text depends on when your booster is due. Please do not call the practice about booster as we are not an approved booster site. Check here to confirm you are eligible for a booster: Book your Covid booster
A supplier to the NHS has advised us of a global shortage of some equipment used for taking blood tests.
Anyone who needs a test for urgent health problems, will still get one but where your clinician recommends that it’s safe to do so, then you may be asked to come back for a test at a later date, or your appointment may be rescheduled.
Given the nature of the shortage, we cannot give an exact date for when the test will be rescheduled, but please be assured that if your condition or symptoms require it, then you will get a test, and we will be re-booking your test when supplies become more easily available.
If your condition or symptoms change or get worse, please contact the NHS as you would normally.”
We expect to be in a position to increase blood testing during October, we are currently awaiting further supplies.
